Privacy policy

The game collects no personal information, transmits nothing anywhere, and works entirely offline. Last updated 25 August 2026.

Weep is a game published by Push Deploy Labs. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. It makes no network requests at all — you can check that by putting your device in Airplane Mode and playing it.

This policy covers two things, and they are not the same: the game, as installed from the App Store or Google Play or played in a browser, and this website, weepingwren.com, which exists to tell you about it. Everything on this page applies to the game unless it says otherwise.

What is stored on your device

The game saves four things so that it can remember your progress between sessions. All four are written to your device’s own storage — UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android, and browser storage on the web. None of it is transmitted, and all of it is removed when you uninstall the app or clear the site data.

StoredWhat it is
Suspended runThe run you are part-way through, so you can resume it.
Run historyYour last hundred finished runs — how deep you got, how long you lasted, what you were carrying, and the seed.
StatisticsAll-time totals: runs, deaths, kills, rooms cleared, time played.
SettingsWhether you muted the sound or the music.

None of that identifies you. There is no name, no email address, no device identifier and no advertising ID anywhere in it.

What the game does not do

The game does not collect, transmit or share personal information. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, location, photos, contacts or health data, and it has no permission to reach any of them.

The game requests only the standard internet permission on Android. That is used to serve the game’s own bundled files to the view it runs in, on your device. Nothing leaves the device.

This website

weepingwren.com — the page that tells you about the game and links to the two app stores — uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which of the two download buttons people press. That is the whole of it: a page view, and an event that records nothing but the word ios or android.

Google Analytics sets a cookie in your browser and receives your IP address, which is truncated before it is stored. No account, name, email address or advertising ID is involved, nothing is sold or shared for advertising, and none of it is joined up with anything you do inside the game. Your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting, an ad blocker, or blocking cookies for this site will all stop it, and the site works normally without it.

None of this happens inside the game. The installed app loads no analytics at all, and cannot: the code that would load it refuses to run inside the app, and the app’s build strips the measurement ID before it is compiled in.

Children

Weep collects no data from anyone, including children under 13. Note that the game itself contains blood, gore and religious imagery, and is rated accordingly on each store — please check the age rating before letting a child play it.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored. In a browser, clearing site data for this site does the same, including the analytics cookie described above. Your saves and your run history are only ever on your own device, so there is nothing held anywhere else to request the deletion of.

Changes

If the game ever starts collecting anything — for example if in-app purchases are added — this page will say so before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
